Snow in March is not very common sight in the Kashmir valley but this year was an exception with lot of snowfall in the third week. I was fortunate to be in the vicinity.
A view of snow-covered village in Gund area, 80 kms from Srinagar on Srinagar-Leh National highway. The hills of Gund are famous among foreign tourists flocking Kashmir for heli-skiing.

Good image, Anjan
The snow makes a very nice contrast to the house, trees or road. It looks like a nice pencil drawing.

Hi Anjan, something very different and unexpected from India. I like the perspective on the snowlandscape. I like these little colourpoints of the houses between the black and WHITE. Nino

As Nino said this is not what you expect coming out of India but then the diversity in landscape as well as culture within our vast country is what makes her truly special. Excellent high POV to get a full view of the valley below. Love the way the coloured houses stand out.

great take. it is wonder of lengthscales that you see things from such a distance and yet able to get it so nicely. a good depiction of the seasonal calamity, very typical of late winter.

Almost monochrome like shot. Only the variation of colour at the houses looks brilliant.Nice angle of view and good visualised shot.

Not so many snow photos in your portfolio Anjan which makes this one a bit special and interesting. Fine patterns in the snow and a good use of the scattered houses in this landscape partly covered in snow.

This is a beautiful post from the Kashmir valley. Very uncommon in the time of year you mentioned, but we all are aware of this through newpapers. This pic almost looks like a monochrome. The beauty is in the wideness also. Nice work.

A beautiful shot with lots of texture and amazing details. The black contrast on the white snow and the trails and huts make it special.
