Photographer’s Note
Nako Lake is a high altitude lake in the Pooh sub-division of district Kinnaur. It is about 3,700 metres (12,010 ft) above sea level.
The lake is surrounded by willow and poplar trees. On a calm afternoon the lake reflects the scenery in an amazing away. Earlier one had to take a detour of about 7 km to reach this village where the lake is located. Since earlier the road to Kalpa used to lie at a lower level while crossing the Malling Nallah. But since the road has now been shifted up, it cross about a km from this village. Now, the proposal is to make another road since trouble persists even now at the highly notorious Malling Nallah, and the detour to reach this beautiful lake would increase.
Near the lake there are four Buddhist temples. Near this place there is a footlike impression ascribed to the saint Padmasambhava. And some miles away there is a village called TASHIGANG around this village there are several caves where it is believe that Guru Padmasambhava meditated and gave discourse to followers.
Added frame and signature in Adobe Photoshop. Also adjusted the brightness level.
