I find it hard to sleep at high altitudes and the Gaddi camp at Topko Yongma is at over 4500 meters. I got up early and enjoyed the cold air and the sight of these two horses playing on the far side of the meadow. The sun had reached the cliffs on the far side of the valley, but was still stuggling to rise above the peaks behind our camp.
The Gaddi shepherds sometimes use horses to carry their food and fuel. Once they reach the alpine pastures the horses are allowed to run free for a month before they are caught and everyone begins to make the long journey south.

Lovely, simple composition. Excellent silhoettes and background. I would crop off more of the botttom, though. I think that would give more effect to this already excellent shot.
Great timing here.

This is a very nice one richard. These two horses in silhouette "kissing" against the backdrop of the huge mountain face. Gives a good sense of scale. Though I agree with Frida... a bit of the dark area from the bottom can be safely cropped out.

This is quite a unique capture. Fantastic shot, and a fav.

Extraordinary, this image !
I dream with it, thank you Richard.
Technically, maybe can you crop just a bit of the dark bottom, but it's not so important here...the most important is the sensibility you had to capture with talent this incredible scene.
I take my hat off to you !

Most incongruent photo by it's simplicity and charming subject like a shadow play. Good POV and compo.

A magic moment for sure. Perfect silhouettes against this light background and they really cooperated by not only standing there. You couldn't have wished a better scenario.

Rare and unforgettable image! The silhouettes of horses against the aquarelle background gives the impression of Chinese ink drawing.

What a wonderful shot you've captured here! I like the way you've framed this photo with all that open space in most of the photo, with that fine dark silhouette at the bottom. Very effective, well seen .... just shows what we miss when we do sleep!

colour is somehow bleak, but graphically is strong, I find it very Indian ( but meaning Wild West redskins )
