Photographer’s Note
This is how the bustling hill station of Simla looks like when one looks at the urbanisation that has taken place from a distance. It appears like a frame out of a video game. During my recent visit to the town, I liked it in parts...surely not this part which anyway made for a good image and a different take on the hill station.

well, these houses look like lego-made buildings...colourful...but lead us to think about how wild urbanisation just eat away land.....more and more...quicker and quicker

Hello ,
It is really true that simla is getting filled by hotels day by day and thus loosing its natural beauty by getting so urbanized...
The photograph really looks like the game , 'simcity'.. The amazing construction of the buildings by the steep slopes , makes this shot very interesting.. Superb idea.. Keep posting ..

Hi Aadiil,
the compression of the distances, caused by the tele lens, is very well to see and give a beautiful effect. I also like that you don´t show the horizon, so the size of the city is still shown by our fantasy only.

Hello Aadiil,
B'ful click of a so densely populated area- It seems houses are being built one over another! As usual, ur good eye for composition. One thing more, I like ur style of adding white border alot- it just boosts the aesthetics of the shot immensely.

dear AAdiil, I have beeen living here for a long time and I hav never seen such faded colours..may be this is the result of oversharpening in Photoshop.
So you didn't like this part of Shimla.....sure urbanisation has taken the toll on the greenries but if you fly on a chooper, you find greenries , rich and in abundabce.
looking for more shots from you........

This place seems full of life. I can almost smell the cooking and hear the children shouting at play. It looks like a vibrant place I want to visit. Must be the colours and the POV that make it look more inviting than perhaps it is.

Good Morning Aadiil. I am looking at a number of precariously placed buildings that I would never want to live in! Neither would I feel comfortable if someones house in this setting was located above me. From where I live we have building codes to prevent this kind of chaos. But having complained enough about living quarters I honestly think the SIMCITY title is perfect for this capture. Excellent rhythm and repetitious patterns with a few trees combined in the ensemble. Good capture and thanks for sharing!

Hello Aadiil,
If you would build a city like this in SimCity you would surely get protests and the land value would surely go down :-). You'd be fired as a mayor within 10 years hahaha.
Yeah, you're right. It has something unreal. As such it could be a video game :-).
Greetings,

Pretty crowded :) but I mean which town isn't, the difference is the architecure, the color, the smells and it is maybe time for me too that I take a distant look at my town and see what comes out, and I am sure that I find not only "nices" but very often these things are pushed away and are certainly not shown to tourists. But I do not want to compare of course, I know how spoilt we are but we should not forget that not everybody is spoilt, this is what I want to say. Excellent documentary ... and I like that you kept the colors pale, this again shows the dimension, scary somehow. Best regards ... Barbara.

hi Aadiil
For a few seconds there, I was wondering about the title and looking for SimCity computer game graphics.
This POV of shapes, forms, color mix and patterns deviates from your style of light+shadow but has a different effect of impression.
It is challenging to see roads going up to a place like this and infrastructure cluster will be interesting to observe.

Aadiil,
this is a sort of image that I was quite to see daily when living for 21 years in Rio. The scene portraited as a photograph almost gives the impression of exotic, but the reality behind the curtains is a very different one. Good tight cropping just giving a detail out of the overpopulated hill.

Perhaps not the best place to live ... but not everybody is completely free to choose the best living conditions.

Hi Aadiil,
I really like this type of photography. There are many cities around the world with these type of hill-slope neighborhoods. My hometown of Medellin has hill-slope slums that look very similar.
