Photographer’s Note
The old people's home just below Ki Monastery is home to about 35 praying elderly people....they spend the day in a small room with their prayer wheels.
A small child is loaned to them for the day by the villagers...keeps them amused.
Here the old lady obviously said something that was funny, but maybe inappropriate for the prayer room, for she clapped her hand over her mouth while her companions smiled quietly..:-)
And all the time the prayer wheel in her hand kept turning...turning..!
Poor light conditions make it technically flawed...but I liked the mood!

This a fantastic shot. Such great character of the ladies brought out. I think the low lighting worked well here, you still got a clear shot and great color, and as an added bonus, the shutter speed caught the prayer wheel in motion quite well.

Hi Vijay, another wonderful shot here, we can really something about their characters from their expressions. The longer shutter speed makes the shot interesting with the motion, especially the prayer wheel, and it makes the scene come alive. I can feel the mood.
Cheers, David

you really captured a very tender moment between these older women.. a photo full of emotions and complicity.. The colors are also very subtle. Good shot Vijay!

Your Photographs are not only among the best technically , but are 'The Best' when it comes to describing them.
After all Photography is not only about light n shade ... but its a lot more ...
because its also about
The feelings , the Mood , the Atmosphere ,
, about sharing ... and still a lot more .
I always feel that we must all add a more descriptive note about the Photograph that we publish.Where we can talk about not only the tecnique used to capture the scene , but more importantly ... we should also talk about the other things regarding our SUBJECT of the Photograph ,which might not be visible in the photograph.
to add a few examples it could be useful notes about the exact location ,
and also how One feels while being at that Place ... Charming , Tranqualising ,Sacred or even uneasy ... and also the Importance that this Place holds for the locals .Like what the Locals have the say about it.
After all the Objective of Publishing on this Site is ...Learning about the world through photography.
