These are almost 1000 years old unique monolithic rock cut temples in Masroor, Kangra valley in Himachal Pradesh. These are a group of 15 temples which survived massive earthquake in 1905 in Kangra Valley, though the earthquake has damaged quite a lot portion of these temples. There are no known inscriptions in the temple and no written records about it. The design and planning of these temples is in Nagara Style of Hindu Temple architecture with intricate carvings on the walls. In the front of these temples, there is a rectangular water tank offering a beautiful reflection of the whole structure. The temple complex offers an spectacular view of Dhauladhar mountain range. A must to see place for Historians.

An amazing location, a heaven for photographers, Manisha.
Chosen the perspective at an outstanding point, with a reflection of the rock-temple on the calm & green water surface.
Outlines of the carved shrine are immaculate in clarity and impressive sight.
DOF and people on side, gave good scale to appreciate.
Have a nice new week ahead,

Do you know this temple is called a possible precursor to the famous Angkor Vat? Its an enigma yet not solved...I had posted a picture long time ago, which you can find here

Interesting picture taken by you. The temple is very strangely built up. I like the colours of the temple.
