Photographer's Note
Jibhi is a scenic hamlet in Banjar valleyof Himachal Pradesh. Jibhi can be approached from Chandigarh-Manali Highway some 8 km from Banjar town towards Jalori Pass.
After arriving at Jibhi, It was not very difficult to find Rana. Guest house run by Rana was booked for us & we got a fine room built from deodar wood with the superb natural scent of deodar enlightening our olfactory senses.
I was very eager to talk with Rana and to get myself drenched with his knowledge about this part of Himalayas. I spent a good amount of time talking to Rana. He did an incredible job of exploring Banjar valley, setting up guest houses, compiling the history of Banjar valley, outlining the trekking trails, exploring unknown villages, ancient temples etc. most importantly he had been doing this since last 20 years. He was also involved in various initiatives for saving environments against dam constructions etc....truly an unknown hero of Himalayas...
In this picture....the play of sun drenched valley against the shadowed slopes of green mountains...

Hi Angshuman,
I like the play of the sin creating lighted and shadowed areas. The hill is framing well the village. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the village. Have a nice day.

Hi Angshu
I'm always impressed with your views from India, you often show us the 'unseen'.
here is another perfect example of just that.
and you have chosen a rather fitting title too.
lovely landscape with hidden gems scattered about the hillsides.
and a well written note to accompany it.
enjoy your day

Hello Angshu,
Very attractive landscape picture with the forested mountains rising up behind the village and the fields.
The ridge in the shade is wonderfully shown here as it is completely surrounded by the landscape bathing in full sunlight.
Best regards, Paul

Namaste, my friend Angshuman,
I like the strong contrast between the green hillsides under the shade and the sunlight of the morning that illuminates this landscape from your back, creating a few nice tones of gold on the village.
The quality of the light and of the colors is high, the image is very sharp, and the composition is elegantly structured.
The title of your photo remembers me a wonderful song of John Denver.
A beautiful work.
Best wishes,
Josep

Namaste Angshu
A brilliant picture, unpolluted with the dramatic ray of light captured in a brief moment and it looks fantastic in real life. You have done well getting the exposure right on this let alone getting a good composition, you seem to have caught the spotlights really well and the 'darks' are balanced and both have highlights with the light pulling the silhouette together. And amids the greenery, we can make out clusters of hamlets and specks of sparkling vivid colors in there. Lovely colours in vibrant greens of a very pleasing serene high altitude image. Pure inspiration. Well done, tx for sharing, Congrats

Hello Angshuman,
This is a fine view that my present workload made me miss. I don't know what caused the shade on the forested hill, but I get a feeling of something immense lurking over the valley out of sight from us. The sunny hillside on the other hand looks very inviting and would probably make for a fine trek. It looks reasonably easy from here, but I imagine it to be fairly tough. That hill is probably a lot steeper than it seems. It's a well composed picture including branches of a tree in the upper left corner and a well shaped cloud to the right. The colours are lovely and well saturated.
Kind regards,
Gert
