Photographer’s Note
Being new to the TE, I fumbled with my first ever post and uploaded a rather comically tilted image of this ultra modern but very famous monastery in Dharamsala -- the seat of the Dalai Lama in India. A sympathetic (?) friend on the TE did the workshop for me (newcomers make great targets for workshops, I know now!:)) and I re-posted it, earning my first division sign!
On a serious note, the Gyuto Tantric Monastery is in fact a well-established center for advanced studies into the Tantric aspect of the Mahayana Buddhism. I chatted with a few western resident scholars in the cafe of the monastery and was impressed with their devotion to their research work.
The monastery is built along the gentle gradient of a hill and the approach to it ascends through levels set to a plan. On the last level stands the sanctum sanctorum (seen here at the far end of the frame) -- a vast prayer hall resplendent with huge images, tanka paintings and other paraphernalia of this sect. On either side of the stairs, you can see the residences of the in-house scholars.
I have reduced and cropped the picture to fit into the parameters of the TE. There is no other pp alteration.

Bonjour Ram,
its very strange that this picture have no critic, because it's a very good one!
The subject, the compo, the colors, the freshness of it all (due to the mist?), everything is great.
Bravo et merci.
Christian
