Photographer’s Note
Hardly ten days ago I was on my favourite Pass again and amazed to see it covered with snow as if it were late October....This year the Himalays are laden with snow....which is melting fast and causing floods downstream...natures bounty is turning into natures fury....dozens of bridges have been swept away by the waters of the Sutlej and the Chandra Bhaga...roads are devastated...still it is and shall always be .."Gods own country"
The lines on the snow are furrows caused by the howling wind cutting into the frozen surface....

hi Vijay
welcome back...
a beautiful landscape from Baralacha... I love the coloured foreground but its a bit dark so some details are lost... I have tried to apply Neutral Density Filter effects and posted to workshop... hope you like it...

Fantastic light! I really like the way the light caresses the slopes. revealing every bump. The forest of prayer flags is great too. Well done.

Hi Vijay,
I really like this opposition between the coloured and messy foreground and the white, calm and peasible snowy background. Well done.
So calm and beautiful up here, and so dangerous and furious downhill... Man will always be admirative and fearful in front of Nature.
Best Regards,
Youssef - back tomorrow...

Hi Vijay
this is a beautiful shot, I like the contrast between the dark prayer flags and the light background. The shadows are great.
I just got back from India - so many passes, but I didnt go over this one.
Hope the lack of bridges isnt stopping your driving enjoyment!
cheers, David
