Photographer’s Note
The world famous Yadavindra Gardens at Pinjore are one of the oldest maintained Mughal Gardens in the Indian sub continent.
They were curated by Fidai Khan, the then Governor of Srihind, a keen architect and a cousin of Emperor Aurangzeb in the 17th century A.D. These unique gardens have been laid at 7 levels on a descending scale. The ownership of these enchanting gardens vested with different dynasties from the Mughals to the hill rulers of Himachal Pradesh, the Gorkhas and the Royal house of Patiala. Post independence and the creation of the State of Haryana, the Haryana Tourism Corporation has maintained these gardens.
The photograph has taken by me on 8th Oct'06. Pinjore lies in between the route of Chandigarh to Baddi (My present workplace).
