This is the portrait of an Indian Space Scientist, Professor Y.S.Rajan. He is an eminent scientist, management thinker and a writer as well.
I requested him for a portrait when he was hurrying back from Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary and he obliged. Of course happily, unless you think it otherwise seeing his eyes.
Converted to BW to suit the mood of the shot and to give it a "no non-sense" character.

What a portrait and what eyes too. From the thumbnail, this mans eyes grab your attention instantly. The background has a slightly surreal feeling with how you have positioned the tree, and eye lighting, and this suits the subject perfectly.
BlAck and white is a beautiful choice..
Thanks for the excellent informative note too, a pleasure to see this photo.
All the best

I'm not an expert on portraits, but this face is very expressive, and BW version increases the expression of eyes
Have a nice weekend

A most intense figure here, Satyakki - the B&W treatment serves him well not just for a sense of seriousness but also for the excellent contrast it brings to his beard and to the surroundings. An unusual portrait pose as well, staring straight ahead into the lens - almost confrontational, except that we know who he is! Nice work.
