One in a series of pictures taken in the gardens housing the tomb of Humayun, in Delhi, India.
Isa Khan's tomb built during his lifetime circa 1547-48 AD, is situated near the Mughal Emperor Humayun's Tomb complex in Delhi which was built later, between 1562-1571 AD. Built within an enclosed octagonal garden, it bears a striking resemblance to other tombs of Sur dynasty monuments in the Lodhi Gardens. This octagonal tomb has distinct ornamentation in the form of canopies, glazed tiles and lattice screens and a deep veranda, around it supported by pillars.
It stands south of the Bu Halima garden just as visitors enter the complex. An inscription on a red sandstone slab indicates that the tomb is of Masnad Ali Isa Khan, son of Niyaz Aghwan, the Chief chamberlain, and was built during the reign of Islam Shah Suri, son of Sher Shah, in 1547-48 A.D. On 5 August 2011 the restoration work on this tomb in New Delhi led to the discovery of the India's oldest sunken garden.
Isa Khan’s garden tomb in the enclosed area of Humayun’s Tomb World Heritage Site in the Capital of India can now be considered the earliest example of a sunken garden in India – attached to a tomb – a concept later developed at Akbar’s Tomb and at the Taj Mahal.

Good Morning Stephen,
India would seem to be a photographer's paradise. This is a beautifully ornate tomb and very well captured. The long shadows and pale sky would suggest early morning or early evening. The details are sharp and interesting and easily accessed via the guiding path.
I'm so glad that you included the figure. It altered my whole perception of the scale when saw him.
Have a good day,

You are bringing out all the hidden gems of Delhi. A beautiful mausoleum which is almost deserted.I like the architecture and the rounded shape. The colors are soft and the gray sky doesn't hamper the beauty of the image. The lonely man walking is a nice bonus.

The small wall and the trees are framing well the tomb.
The point of view is showing the details and colors of Isa Khan tomb. A good management of the strong light which does not hurt the output of the colors. Have a nice day.

Une note intéressante de cette construction particulière, bien cadrer sous une belle lumière, la personne donne une évaluation de la grandeur du batiment

I like the composition of this presentation, the tomb between the similar shaped trees and surrounded by the grounds that give a good idea about the garden. The soft light makes the shapes and details of the architecture easily discernible and gently wraps the whole composition in a harmonious atmosphere.
All the best,

A wonderful buildings, and its design and shape belies its actual size. On first glance, I would think this to be quite small, but the great idea of including the person in there as well lets me appreicate the actual size of this place! Beautiful design, and another great note, thank you.
