Its sad but its a common practice in India to honk while driving on roads.
This photograph shows an initiative taken to curb this habit amongst people.
This was taken while driving in a traffic jam. The yellow sticker on the Auto Rickshaw hood in Hindi says "Even Dogs do not Bark without a reason". I have seen similar ones pasted on road sides as well.
Not sure how many of us read those.
