After the school, the children of Delhi like to play in the Lodi gardens, a very nice park in the heart of the city.
Several tombs of Sayyids and Lodis, who are muslim dynaties that rules the north of India in the XVth and XVIth centuries are still to be seen.
These buildings may be considered as predecessors to the Taj Mahal in Agra.
The gardens themselves were designed in the late 1930s to preserve the tombs, and are really a wonderful place to rest after visiting the hectic city of Delhi, and are a paradize for joggers and walkers. |
