"BHAIYYA, MERA EK PHOTO LELO PLEASE"(Big Brother, Please click a photograph of mine)

This was the request made to me by this young girl when I went to the BANGLASAHIB GURUDWARA in New Delhi this January.

This is the first photo through my owned digicam(incidentally its a mobile phone with a built in 2 megapixels camera.)I tried my best in the limited time to click a good shot of hers and the happiness she got after seeing the shot in the cam was very fulfilling.

I can understand this photograph may not be upto the standards and also I was apprehensive before posting it..but then sharing is the main spirit of this site..so I thought of sharing this shot with my friends in TE.

Do let me know how you all like this first shot of mine...I have desaturated the bg and added a bit of sepia to get the girl highlighted..!!!

enjoy..!!

well, if it is your first digital one, then kudos for it. the play of light-shade and details are nice. the girl is well highlighted. but i think you could have have cropped out the left side.

Hi Indranil,

Great is this ..
Captured well with your new digi-mobile cam... and presented fine.
The tone variations do help in highlighting her presence, true.
You make her feel good in image..
Thank you for sharing this delight.

Hi Brother,

This may not be a masterpiece for many but it is sure that you have shown real spirit of trekearth of sharing your efforts.Compositionally it is a perfect one. You have also done good experimentation by desaturating background to higilight main subject.

Salute to your dedication for photography.

Told you...you need a camera! In your hands with your talent you can do wonders
If you with a mobile phone can do this just imagine what will be with a Nikon D200 :) or a Canon ...
Her look is so innocent and I like the partial desaturation of the BG

Hi Indranil!
What a wonderful capture of the girl, that too using a camera phone! Simply breath taking with such a high degree of precision to capture such great details. You can work wonders with a digital SLR beyond doubts.Loved this potrait from you.
Thanks a lot for the share

oh-ho, Indro;the clarity of this shot basically brings out a question in my mind-why do we need digi cam then?Excellent for a shot taken in Mobile cam.Just feel a more 2 inches crop from the left side of the frame could have been great.

Dhurjati

Hello Indro
If a mobile camera can take such pix. why spend money on a DSLR etc? But I'm angry with you...you came to Bangla Sahib & could not meet me, barely a KM away? Good idea of partial desaturation to highlight her. Maybe as others said, a small crop on the left especially the white...but actually not too much of a bother for me. Well done!
