Hi Farhat, An interesting image of this unusual fish along with detail note. Nice use of lights and everything is in details. The scales on the orange BG create dramatic look to the frame. Thank for sharing

I'm not a "fish guy" myself, but I can still appreciate a good photo of one! Loving the shadow here, if you squint your eyes it projects the shape of a dolphin...it's a two-for-one photo. :) With this composition and presentation, it would appear to have been mounted on a wall for display. haha The vivid and textured background really makes it stand out well. Thanks for sharing some of the local delicacies. Have a great day ahead.

A nice presentation of "Fish of Bengal". A traditional and very common fish for daily recipe particularly for bengalees.this one looking so fresh..ummm..and caught from pond, not from vary. The orange plastic sheet worked well to get attention in thumbnail version.
Nice job Farhat.

Good photograph of this fish with good sharpness and nice background.
But as far as I know this is not a ROHU fish, this is sipinas fish.

big, fat, healthy fish, a delight for the eyes and the palate...it is so fresh I can tell by its eyes...and it would be very tasty grilled with lots of lemon and olive oil...
thanks for noticing my absence...many responsibilities kept me away...but I always come back here..
all the best wishes for the holidays

Nice closeup shot of the fish. It doesn't seem to happy at being caught :-). Good bright BG probably the polythene of Machwala...contrasting the fish very well.
Good one..thanks for sharing.

Aaah, Farhat -- you hit me where I live! In my stomach, and for fish! I love to eat good fish, and Rohu looks delicious!
I love the colors and shadows in this image. The vibrant background, accented by what I suspect are fish scales, is terrific. The line of the sunlight across the fish allows the texture of the scales to present itself in varying light, making it more interesting. And even the place where I would usually criticize -- the front bottom of the fish is blown out to the exclusion of details -- WORKS in this image, as it serves to show the end of the spectrum of light across the fish and balances the dark line along the top rear of the fish.
A superb image! Thanks for sharing!

A fine fishy portrait, this could look well as an advertisement! The fish itself has such perfect clarity, and seems almost to be framed with the shells, while its color stands out beautifully against the vivid orange backdrop. The shadow adds an extra element of interest.
All the best

now that appears to be a prize specimen, perhaps next time you can include an open tape measure to show the size as sometimes we do.
pierrefonds (69835) 2013-12-19 4:34
The tight frame is putting the fish in evidence. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the Labeo Rohita. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

very nice the view as the presentation of the golden fish,on the orange backdrop.I like the excellent light and colour management as the clarity of the scene.

Gros plan avec une netteté incroyable bien présenter sur le fond orange
kato (11630) 2013-12-19 13:56
You're capturing well this gold fish by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the big freshwater fish. And, the shadow projected to the base draws out a good effect.
mirosu (16273) 2013-12-19 23:17
Superb fish detail photo in excellent side light. I like your POV and the shadow caused by low light. Very well done.

this fish is really very similiar to the common carp which is a popular dish at Christmas in my region. You captured it very well under difficult conditions. Thanks for sharing!
ChrisJ (117199) 2013-12-26 4:21
Looks potentially delicious! A bit of lemon juice, some garlic perhaps and some spices. Good sharpness and effective tight framing. The neutral orange background does not detract. Bon apperatif! And Merry Xmas / Happy New Year!
mcmtanyel (27030) 2013-12-28 21:58
That fish looks delicious, I hope your friend shared some of it with you. I love the background color, too. What is it laying on?
