Photographer’s Note

The season of festivals is not very far away and the nature is not too far behind in making herself prepared to greet it. This is sunset through the "kaash-phool" - a special flower that blooms in Bengal during October, the time for Bengali's greatest festival "Durga Puja".

Hi Arjun,

High contrast treatment here, I like this. Did you do a lot of post processing over this? It seems so, with lots of grains and some effect which gives a feel of oil painting. Whatever it may be, I like it.

Very well done backlit photo, especially since you also have a bit of sun there, which complicates the exposure. It definitely looks like you did some PP; can you tell us about it?

The color of the sky is also unusual.

a stretch of white kaashphool under blue sky... and it is more romantic as it sways with the breeze in a moonlit night.

Good to hear from you...this is an excellent post on the eve of Durga Puja...the very spirit of the season. Like your low POV through the long grass, and the sun through the kaash flowers. Good work!
