Today I am posting my 100th photo in TE. Hope you'll like it.
It is the inner view of the Katra Mosque. Which has 4 spherical tombs initially. Then due to poor maintenance and lastly due to thunder the 2 tombs of middle had been destroyed. In its golden age several people were used to gather here for prayer (for Namaz). It is now a famous tourist spot of Lalbag, which is 10 to 11 km from Berhampore, W.B.
This place is full with tranquility and you can feel the history here. In this picture you can see the guide is making the tourists aware about the history. I like the damp moisty weather, the silhouetted people and the golden past (i,e the ruined mosque) that time. Now I am sharing it with you. Hope you'll also feel the past.

Congratulations on 100 postings! The visitors in partial silhouette add much to the mood of the shot, which makes good use of the framing arch. I like also the light and shadow contrasts and the warm/coll tonal contrasts. It would be helpful to have some information about this interesting looking place.

Hi Subhendu, congratulations on your 100th photo. I hope that we see many, many more from you in the future. As you say, this photo evokes such a feeling of history and no doubt pride in your country. I like the composition, with the people adding a touch of nostalgia and the old ruined mosque interest and more history. Congratulations and thanks once again for your lovely photo and Note, Lisa

Congrats Subhendu, this is one of your best shots so far. The reason? You have included the visitors as silhouettes, doing so giving the viewer a dimension of the monument and adding life to your photograph, got all the fine color hues of the mosque perfectly right and even the sky is blue e.g. not washed out. Well done. Thanks for your critique of my butcher shot from Penang.

First, congratulations for reaching the milestone of 100 photos published here.
About the photo that you have chosen to celebrate this event, I like the strong contrast between the dark silhouettes of the people and the blue sky that one sees across the ruins of the destroyed domes of the mosque.
The graphical effect is good, the balance of light and shades is managed very well, and the final result is very attractive.
A good work, I wait for more of your photos.

Congratulations on your 100th...a bit slow I would say compared to me :-).
Good use of the silhouetted men in the FG and the nice interior of the mosque opening upto the sky. I am sure there were domes before at the top, all of which must have collapsed. Look fwd to your next milestone...200 pictures!

congratulation on the occasion of your jubilee. Hopefully your second year here will be as fruitful as the first year. Concerning the image: this is a very fascinating capture of the mosque, so rich and full of atmosphere! The silhouettes of the people against the walls are a very fascinating feature. My compliments!
plimrn (21344) 2010-03-19 17:35
The interesting shape created by the lost dome is eye-catching; it also allows more light to show the detail of the walls and arches. The near-silhouettes of the men add perspective and life. A worthy choice for your 100th post.
