This is the snap of river Teesta and river Rangeet at their meeting point. We were told that due to heavy rain in upper North bengal and because of various construction works undergoing at the river Teesta banks , the colour of both the rivers have lost their originality and can be seen as very murky.Still the difference is colour of both the rivers can be clearly seen. The deepish colour is of river Rangit and the more lighter one is of river Teesta.
Even in recent past this point had only a bird-eye view from the top of hill which is known as the famous "lovers point". But very recently this spot has been converted to a tourist spot
called " Triveni ".The approach road to the banks have been constructed and DGHC is also seting up a tourist Lodge at the bank. Now one can go as far as we went to see and enjoy the beauty of the meeting of two rivers. This is for a change altogether a very different view than what u were used to see of this spot.
Hope u all will like this view.

Nice shot of the Triveni. Yes the colour of the waters are pretty distinct. I was rafting past Triveni last week. Pity I couldn't stop by to take the shot. It's risky to carry a camera along as you are bound to get all drenched by the time you end your trip.
Thanks for sharing

We trekked to Rangeet river in soaking rain; it was dark by the time we reached there. Next morning, the instructors told us to get into the river. Lesson in river craft! Mortally scared of water, especially of fast running mountain rivers, I tried to evade by sprinkling myself with water but the instructors were too clever to deceive. So they threw me in and I still remember the nightmare!
Thanks for taking me down the memory lane through this lovely image, Dhurjati.
That was 41 years ago in January of 1965 when I was at HMI for an adventure course.
