Tonglu night is magical, the night sky is studded with a million stars and if one can brave the biting winds then the spectacle is unparallel.
The bright dot seen in the lower mid sky towards the left shrubbery is not moon .. its actually jupiter.

At first I thought it was the moon, but then I saw the grass was well lighted (must be from the moonlight above). How well you captured Jupiter that big not to mention the stars, and everything in this photo. I love the compisition.

Here's a suggestion - increase your iso to its highest value. Then take a 60 sec exposure facing south. You'll find the milky way arching across your exposure. That said, it's best to take milky way pics in September - I got fantastic results in Almora, Uttarakhand. I should upload those images...
Try star trails too. The best way is to experiment.
