This composition was taken on the foothills of Darjeeling during our drive up to the hills.
The road is scenic as it moves outside the city onto the lush green forest of Sukuna and surrounding Tea Gardens.
Often Elephants are sighted along this stretch and monkeys are pretty common.
Along the road you also find army settlement and their training grounds.
As you begin the ascent the vegetation changes to coniferous pines and swirly slopes along the road. At a distance you see Kurseong town. The temperature also dips rapidly and you begin to feel the chill. Pullovers and Jackets need to be pulled out now.

Here it is a stitch up of four (4) images , all clicked on the Khaprail Matigara more en-route the hills.
Every time I return home the moment I reach this juncture a sense of having arrived fills in me.
Feeling home bound once again.
