THIS WAS MY FIRST POST IN 2007 AND ON CLOSER INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THERE WERE SOME PP FALACIES IN THE SHOT..LIKE:
While doing history erase I missed out on a part on the forehead which looks like a black triangle and also on the nose and also the colour..i found to be too saturated..so have redone the shot , have increased the frame and desat the colours to repost it..I hope I cud do Justice to the shot..!! opinions are welcome..!!!!
First of all I would like to wish everybody a very very HAPPY 2007..!!!As the years go by it really leaves mark and that is why I am starting with this photograph as the first photograph for 2007..!!
While coming back from a trekking trip to Sandakphu we stopped at a place called Rimbick which is the kind of destination for trekkers before they avail transport to go down.We were staying at the SHERPA HOTEL run by a family of Sherpas and is a must stay after the trek.
This old Nepali lady, a worker there is 85 yrs old and does everykind of work, has a baritone voice and smokes continuously..dont think her eyes are closed..they are not..its like that only..!!!
More pic of the Sandakphu trip are on the way..just enjoy the lines of age on her face which describes the happiness of seeing three generations, the experiences, and so many Happy New Years.....
A VERY VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY FRIENDS OF TREK EARTH..AND MAY THIS YEAR BRING THE LIGHT OF PEACE AND PROSPERITY ALL ALONG YOUR WAY..!!!!!
NOTE: This has been taken with an olympus OM2000 with aperture 8 and speed of 125 then scanned the print.PP includes desaturated Bg and a bit of levels and colour balance

Great post edition work, this version is sharper and detailled than the original one. I like a lot the tone of the color and yours is close than Steve McCurry one.
It's well framed too. A great success.

Very good post processing treatment to this shot, Indranil. I like the desaturation, and it makes a fine presentation.

This looks almost Painting. Outstanding portrait, love this composotion, lights and texture, Your PS work is also very good, original picture is also looking good and only too much saturated colour.

This one is a beautiful portrait and seeing this I am certain that you have a great ability to take portraits also. Wonderful tonality as well as sharpness. Every curve in her face is visible. Great work indeed.

excellent portrait with good color details.even though i am not a big fan of pp work, i don't see any apparent evidence of falacies here:)
you have managed to capture the mood and the moment very well.

The tonal effects are.................I am speechless..............not easy to pop up the image and you have really done well here, Indranil.
Her eyes..........she can see through them...........and the wrinkles........her journey of life.............you have just immortalised her.
Well Done Bro,
