One of my old shots taken by a very ordinary Fuji film manual camera.
Its the view of a sunrise from a place called Loleygaon in West Bengal. This snap was taken from a sunrise view point called 'Jhandidanra',from where a breathtaking view of the sunrise can be obtained.
The winter season is the best time to visit the hills, not for the lucrative off season discounts, but to have a very good chance of getting a view like this.
The beauty of Jhandidanra lies in the fact that one can see the sun rise from one side and see the rays getting reflected on the snow capped peaks of Kanchenjunga and other peaks, directly on the oppoisite side.
Loleygaon is very well connected by road from Siliguri and Kalimpong, and has quite a few lodging accomodations including a WBFDC bunglow.
Rishap,a Lepcha village near Loleygaon is also accessible quite easily.
I know this one has a lot of scanning deformities.I worked on it quite a bit to give it a minimum presentable appearance.

it's like a simple water color wash with an attracting contrast... sun penetrating to the darkness is always a scenic view...

Dear Sagarneel Sengupta,
I think all sunrise are peaceful and beautiful. but in clear air like this photo of mountain area, the view is extremely touching and almost holy.
the width of shining orange in horizontal sky is beyond words, and real view may be beyond this image and my imagination.

When I saw this shot, I remembered that in school when we use to have art classes, this is all I painted! The red sky, the sun going down, and a really dark foreground. I am glad to know that you worked hard to make this presentable. Quality of the photo does matter here at TE, so strive hard!
