This banjara (vagabond) lady was selling some queer stones, roots etc. with a cute kid on her lap on the footpath adjoining Maidan in Kolkata where the transit camp was set up for the pilgrims heading to Sagar island for the holy dip in Makar Sankranti (last day of the Bengali month) to attain salvage.

This is a very good portrait of a beautiful banjara lady! The banjaras here where I live are not this charismatic :)
I like the colors and the exposure and I love here expression in the face! As for the composition, I guess I would have preferred a vertical format but that's just me. Anyway, I like your work very much! Thank you for sharing!

Hi Ayan! The picture with the amazing detail and the chromatic perfect opposition makes a composition good and with the natural expression gives a lot of messages. I liked that you in have the portraits in the environment with the persons!

this is good. Great impact, her expression so pensive and ?? we can only guess and the baby she hold makes it a tender image too; I like the pov you chose showing the other person's feet and a bit of the crodw around her. Colors and sharpness are good, I just would have liked to see her whole hand.:-)

nice capture ayan. i think if you didn't crop the hand and hand-held things of the banjara, it would have been better. and also perhaps the red colour tone could have been lessened a bit. but given the spontaneity of the moment, you deserve full marks.
by the way, what SW did you use to produce the shadow?

Interesting composition to show the daily life at a street, more completed if able including the selling goods, beautiful patterns on their fabrics, thanks for sharing.

Otro magnífico retrato en la que la expresión de la mujer delata casi sus pensamientos. Excelente encuadre y colores. Gran POV.

You created another excellent photojournalistic image again. You are very adept at working close in, in very congested areas. This is not an easy thing to do both technically and emotionally (for many people). I like working very close also, but many photographers feel uncomfortable by working in crowded conditions and taking such intimate portraits. This would look great in a newspaper showing this preoccupied mother and her child during their pilgrimage. You are very good at this type of photography!
