Photographer's Note
Village fairs are integral to the lives of people in rural India which are often held during festive seasons when makeshifts stalls like one in the picture sell toys and other stuff that attract the curiosity of the children and old alike! People who otherwise live in hardship throng to the fairs and which offer them the happiness and joy they yearn for in their struggled existence. The fairs sell inexpensive stuff but the smiles it brings to the villagers is priceless and cannot be measured by mundane socio-economic theories.

Hello Arunabha,
I like this village scene very much. It is a favorite artistic technique to have one member of the crowd staring down the artist (here the photographer), while the photographer is contemplating the larger collection of individual. Colorful, well composed, rich in color! Regards from Virginia, Bulent
