Jhalong is 103 km away from Siliguri and is 56 km from New Mal station. It is situated on the bank of the river Jaldhaka on the Indo-Bhutan border. Jhalong lies at the foothills of the Himalayas, on the way to Bindu in Kalimpong sub-division.
Accomaodation is limited - but the best option is the forest rest house, on the way to Bindu. The rest house is located adjacent to a stream called Rongbu, which is a tributary of Jaldhaka river, which forms a natural border between Bhutan abd India.
This photograph shows the bridge on Rongbu, early in the morning.

Can very well remember ths place as I travelled there thrice till date.Dont think that the beauty of this place is captured to its potential here. The blown out sky and the reddish tone just doesn't fit the overall mood here.I also dont think that the vartical capture here have done the justice, a more wider view on wither side of bridge could have helped the cause.

it's a good service that yopu give a lots of information which a tourist really needs...
as a shot you framed it well... some more clarity and contrast is required...

Good to see a post from you after quite a long time!!The nature you have shown in this shot is great. The note is also a pretty helpful one!!But I feel that you have overworked on this shot. Its a bit too sharpened, and the pink color of the lower part of the sky is also not understood!!I think you could have avoided the sky in the first place and could have tried to get a more wide view of the surrounding landscape!!
