From my latest series of Dooars. This snap was taken on our way to Jhalong.Down below you will see the green Jhalong valley looking up like a picture post card.Green and green everywhere. The Jaldhaka River adds a silver line to the picture.
Now more of Jhalong........
Jhalong is a lesser-trodden offbeat wonder of Dooars Himalayan foothills. It is situated on the bank of Jaldhaka river on the way to Bindu in Kalimpong Sub-division.Jhalong is 103 km by road from Siliguri. There is one direct bus from the Mittal bus stand of Siliguri, but it is irregular. It is best to go to Chalsa and then hire a cab to reach Jhalong in approx 2 Hrs journey.
Due to the Jaldhaka hydroelectricity generation plant, Jhalong is small but busy, full of houses and shops. It even boasts a police station just at the entry point to Jhalong. There is a small and placid Buddhist monastery as well. Everything, starting from Chinese food to photo studio is available at the Jhalong market, . Behind the market there is a fair ground where all things of necessity are sold. The locals come there and shop for the whole week. The best accommodation in Jhalong is the beautifully located two room forest bunglow which is situated just besides Jaldhaka river. There are other private hotels as well.

I think you are posting a new series of photos and I can already see what difference TE has made. These are much better images. Like the landscape and the colours are so alive.

Once again a very refreshing image. I agree with Anjan, the difference that TE has made seems obvious here. I guess you got much better weather this time around than on your last trip to Tinchuley :)

Great image with vivid and clear colours of nature..!!depth perspective has come out very well with the colours of the distant mountains with respect to the hills in the fore ground.
This is another lovers point..isnt it..??? the different v shaped layers of colours and the land at the delta is looking greeat.
The vegetation around with a wall like hill on the other side gives this photograph a great feel.
keep posting !!

A good angle to see the river down slight tilted towards the hill in gradaint mist towards the horizont. Well captured with a natural green.

Very amateurish photo. No contrast in the upper part. The sky is dull, dear. The colour is O.K.
