Chowrastha in Darjeeling is a place which attracts a lot of importance.
Of late after the administration removed all the hawkers market which were along the road that connects chowrastha to the town, and there were a lot of commotion about it. The administration later set-up a temporary hawkers market along the slope towards Hotel Alice villa and a few along the mall road towards the stretch of Mahakal Dham (Temple and an Observatory Hill ).
This makeshift settlement now exists for over two years and its chaotic but colorful. People selling scarf, tshirts, pants, decorative items, umbrellas , etc line up their shops as depicted in the picture on both the sides of the narrow street.
You can see this colorful view with tourists and locals loitering for their object of desire all along.
Hope you get a view of what it is like.
