This photograph was taken at Chitrey during our trekking to Sandakhphu(appx 12000 ft),the highest point of west bengal, India. We went there at mid january, but lot of frustating not to get snow or ice.
Chitrey is a very small village consisting of 4-5 houses.
Its calm and quiet and the sunrise from here is spectacular.
This boy is actually come from the village manebhanjan just below Chitrey. He was actually going upwards for collecting woods.
I was lucky to capture him at a moment of his natural smiling.

You caught this kid in a great mood, a real joy to behold, but what happenned to the image, it is so contrasted and saturated, in a very violent way?

I love the facial expression, and the moment you got here!
I also agree with kinginexile about the colour.

Great portrait Partha! You are disappointed with not getting snow at Sandakphu, but you should be happy that you were able to capture a nice and beautiful smile on the child's face. The contrasting colours also added to the beauty of the photograph!
