Photographer's Note

A Ghat (a bathing place)built during the colonial heyday along the river Hooghly and it was dedicated to James Princep who was an eminent orientalist ;in this sub continent there had been a numbers of oriental personality i.e William Jones,Colbroke James Prince who deserved mention here. James prince who laboured to deciphered the Ashokan Inscription and finally did in the year in 1837.
Presently Orientalism has become a much debated discourse. They tried to explore this subcontinent and did their best job as a colonial servant but there had been sharp colonial motifs also …They often functioned as a tool of the colonial authority and with the help of their exploration colonial government was able to strengthen their domination in an align land

I know u r getting tire..This snap has taken near the fort William and my focus was to capture the architectural beauty of second Hooghly Bridge from Princep Ghat in an afternoon
