'Did-He-Do-It?' | Red-Wattled Lapwing
The Saturday Flight: Red-wattled Lapwing, with its cry 'Did-He-Do-It?'
The Red-wattled Lapwing (Vanellus indicus) is a lapwing or large plover , a wader in the family Charadriidae. It has characteristic loud alarm calls which are variously rendered as did he do it or pity to do it leading to colloquial names like the did-he-do-it bird. Usually seen in pairs or small groups not far from water but may form large flocks in the non-breeding season (winter).

A great capture of these birds mid-flight. Good control over depth of field, isolating them from the background. Superb rendering of the colours in the plumage.

Great details and sharpness. By experience I know taking the photo of moving animals is a difficult task. Congrats!
Have a great WE

another very successful capture of birds in flight. You framed your picture in an excellent way, your composition is well balanced and the effect of movement most appealing. Once again, sharpness is impressive and the blurry background is relaxing and comprehensive. I also appreciate the well defined natural colours. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,

You captured these two wonderful birds very nicely. The sharpness is perfect and the narrow dof makes the surroundings pleasantly soft. The different positions of their wings give us some idea of their flying technique.

On voit que tu as beaucoup de pratique dans ce genre de photos. Saisir des oiseaux en plein vol n'est pas chose facile. Ici, les détails sont nets, les couleurs joliment saturées et l'arrière plan dans un très beau flou.

I´m impressed how nicely you immortalized this scene.
Just the birds and so lovely blurred background, which emphasizes the main subject of the composition.
Image with its own,unique character!
Have a nice weekend

The place from where you shot these photos is definitely a bird's paradise. Nice view of these birds in flight. I simply love the bright crimson color near its beak and eyes. They patterns on their body also look beautiful.
Nice one, thanks for sharing.

Colors of the wings and the beaks so wonderfully captured, is great. Again that nice blurred background and an excellent composition.
Enjoying your bird extravaganza a lot, because, due to pollution, birds have left Kolkata long ago. Our next city-generation will know only one bird - crow.

I enjoy this pretty photo with well captured flying birds. The DOF is excellent and the birds stand out very much from the background. Great colors and sharpness.

Well capture of the flying birds, not easy to take

Namaste, my friend Subhendu,
this is a difficult shot, indeed, but you have solved the handicap wonderfully, I like the quality of light and colours, and the great sharpness as well.
These two beautiful birds with their nice colours have been skilfully caught in your framing, it's a fantastic photographic work.
