One of these birds used to visit the garden of the house where we lived until quite recently. They are very attractive birds and quite exotic to Western eyes. Your image is well composed and pleasantly lit. Very good control over depth of field.

On dirait bien que tu peux profiter de nombreux oiseaux autour de toi et de plusieurs races différentes. Celui-ci est vraiment spectaculaire et d'une grande netteté sur un fond flou à souhaits.

Now this one is an experienced model... sitting exactly where the light is best... and turning face in such an angle that the profile comes like a film-star.
Jokes apart... I can guess how difficult it is to have a bird sitting in a photogenic angle and in good lights, but I can see that you have done it... done it immaculately.
Then comes execution... Superb.

I like very much this elegant portrait too, although the hoopoe wasn't very patient and moved a tiny bit, maybe compromising a perfect sharpness. (It could be only my idea, though.) In many of your pictures from this series, it's not only the colourful birds that captivate my interest but also the way you use the branches in your compositions. In today's picture the balance created by the branch and the bird's position on it is wonderful. There's a very delightful play of light, shadow and natural tones all over the frame. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
