With my 100th photo post, I complete 5 years in TE. I have to admit that the journey in TE had began with a bit of hesitation. I was a member in TE since 29th Dec 2006 and I used to silently browse through the website and watch and admire the beautiful collection of photographs and travel the world through these but always shied away at the thought of posting one of my shots here. But then one day I finally did post one and was happily surprised and overwhelmed by the welcome I received from the members. It pulled up my confidence and slowly I geared up with more of my photographs.
I have learnt so many things from this site that its countless. This was the place which tols me about the rule of thirds, the most basic thing about composition. Learnt concepts like depth of field, light, hues, shadow, white balancing. And about post processing, initially I had the wrong notion that any PP on the photo was like a match fixing but TE taught me that PP is necessary keeping to the limits of originality and not compositing the image in photoshop. But elements like curves, levels, highlights and shadows, color balancing is required to make the photograph more presentable.
Here I have seen awesome landscapes, brain wrecking concepts, most realistic portraits, experienced cultures, learnt about gears, techniques, observed and read interesting forum discussions and sometimes participated in them and ofcourse made friends. Thank you TE for changing my vision to photography, a occassional hobby that I enjoyed as a girl has changed into a passion and a serious hobby because of you.
I dedicate my 100th post in TE to all the crew and members of TE. The sail is on and I am anchored to this for long. :)
This photograph was shot at a photography shoot trip in a place called Bakkhali a few kilometers away from Kolkata, India. This was taken at late afternoon and all of a sudden the hot summer weather changed drammatically with a storm and cloudy build up just over the area. I spotted these two boats tucked away from the sea and tried out a composition.
PP - curves, levels, brightness, contrast and hues have been adjusted a bit.

Wonderful colours: did you use a tobacco filter, or is the scene "au naturel"? The wrecked boats in the foreground are well complemented by the lowering sky to create a very atmospheric landscape.
Congratualations on your 100th post!
