A series on Jayanti is incomplete without a mention of this bridge.
The structure is of little use now. But once Raimatang-Jayanti used to flow 10 to 15 meters below this bridge. The river bed has come up to this level due to flash floods.
Now the old character has become a part of ambiance of the place. Local kids play on it, tourists come and click photos of it, film-people shoot around it and so many other things happen butů
Nobody uses it as a passage to cross over the river.
Still, it is the icon of Jayanti.

Dear Alekhya, thanks for your nice comments, it's a very scientific image, the supply of mineral, sand and stones carried by the flood is clearly visible, good framing, the bridge is now useless, I can see how that flood was powerful, a rip rap on the right, high definition and good colors, Warm regards

yes it is. The jayanti sign. Love this historic bridge. Great capture with the bridge nicely off-centred in the frame. Pebbles in river bed and the thin water stream reminds my those days there. Thanks for it. The activities at left is added some life to it. Like the composition. Like the light and the beautiful colours of nature. Excellent one.

An interesting but a sad 'river' scene and the environmental destruction coz by floods. As for this shot, the wide view in so panoramic with focus of attention being paid the 'white elephant' while imagining its hugh size as compared to those figs there. Heart breaking isn't it, left high and dry now! a wonderful river side without water where is it? Yes it is a sad sight indeed, a simple but effective reportage shot with superb lead in and love the nature beauty in the backdrop. A fine effort, Congrats.

So, this is how some bridges reach the end of their lives, instead of them falling down to the ground, the ground rises up to swallow them.
A very nice documentary photo.
