Photographer's Note
Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves are partly natural and partly artificial caves of archaeological, historical and religious importance near the city of Bhubaneswar in Orissa, India. The caves are situated on two hills Udayagiri and Khandagiri, mentioned as Kumari Parvat in Hathigumpha inscription and face each other across the road. They have a number of finely and ornately carved caves. It is believed that most of these caves were carved out huge residential blocks for the Jain monks, during the reign of King Kharavela. Udayagiri meaning Sunrise Hill, has 18 caves while Khandagiri has 15 caves.
This is at udaygiri.

Hello Dibyendu
I have been trying for ages to try and critique this. When I click it on your home page it kicks me out of TL. Tried clicking on an existing critique & it seems to have worked. Anyway, well framed nice warm colors of yellow red & interesting ruins. Perhaps a slight cw rotation? Tfs!

Hi Dibyendu
I love the warm tones and textures in this wonderful composition. It looks like a great place to explore and your excellent capture enhances the desire to step in and do just that. A perfect execution and tantalising presentation.
Have a great week - regards Brian.

Hi Dibyendu,
Good frame to show an unique old temple, I wonder that people in ancient age are always like to built temple into the rocky mountains, seem it is not an easy work to carve the stones, interesting composition, thanks for sharing.

Hello Dibyendu,
Document intéressant sur l'histoire de la vie en ces lieux, l'art subtil de profiter du terrain et des roches, pour s'appuyer dans les constructions.
J'aime beaucoup cette palette d'orangés qui se mêle bien avec la végétation bien verte.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hello Dibyendu,
All these rocks remind me a little of my stay in Hampi, although I didn't see any cave-dwellings over there.
Great composition and good management of colours ans sunlight.
There is just a little tilt towards the left, which I will post in WS, when ùmy allowance comes back tomorrow.
Hope you like it.
Best regards.
Marie-Louise.

Hi Dibyendu,
The distance between the step and the entrance of the cave is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the entrance. It is leaning to the left a slight rotation would correct the situation. The afternoon light is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Namaste Dibyendu. Fascinating note and photo. How hard they must have worked, yet making sure that they did not injure or kill any lizards or insects. The steps are straight but the building is leaning somewhat. Regards. Klaudio.
