Photographer’s Note

Somewhere on the road between Machhkund and Gupteswar there was a small 2x2m cubic concrete construction, open on one side.
Inside a priest. He didn't talk; just accepted some gifts (our guide gave him a flower; I gave him a bottle of water). In return he lightened a small candle and prayed for us.

Have you noticed my steady hand :>)

a nice image of this puja Alfred, colors are fine. The only thing i would like better i believe is if the image could be taken at the smae level as the man instead of form higher up. Otherwise shooting it like this it would have been nice esthetically to give it a tilt toward the left.

nice capture. i like the colors and the POV. what also attarcts me is the idol of the deity, only a face in yellow. this is common in some parts of Orissa, i have seen a few of them.

Interesting angle gives the shot an environmental portrait feel. The things spread around the man have nice colors and make the image pop. The puff of smoke finishes off the composition. Good work.

I like a lot all the differant things you can see here preparing his puja and I like your natural POV and composition here a lot, too much dynamics would disturb the serenity of this subject IMHO.
Sharp and colorful giving us the right mood.
Indeed really tripod hand you got !

intriguing scene. the composition is really nice--my eye goes first to the man's face and then is drawn naturally downward following the line of his arm that is continued in the line of the flowers down to the lower right corner of the image. the division of color on the right and neutral tones on the left is also interesting.
