Photographer’s Note
The beauty of india also lies in its villages. some of them are so far away from the "civilized concrete jungles" and so near to nature that sometimes one has to travel the last mile in an aged mode of transport....the village boat. And just as the way we have BUS STOP in the cities, we have a BOAT STOP in some villages.
this pic was captured on the outskirts of the city of jamshepur where river subarnarekha and kharkai meander to meet each other, with a village inhabitated by farmers in its hinterland. daily, these farmers pedal back from the city and finally paddle to reach their homes.
i have used monotone to enhance the village/rural setting and cropped the sky as it was overexposed due to strong sunlight.
very simple composition, hope you all like it

Hello Balmike,
A well executed scene from daily life. Good tones from very clear to dark and shades of grey.

Hello Balmiki,
There's a very peaceful and pleasant atmosphere in this picture. I guess we watch a way of life that hasn't changed for a very long time. Your choice of a vertical format with a strong cropping of the sky adds extra power to the composition featuring the man with the bicycles, the boat and the row of trees in the bg.
Best regards,
Gert
