India's latest census reveals a country obsessed with boys. Continuing female foeticide further explains why the child sex ratio is getting abysmal.Even in our cities, let alone our villages, a girl child is thought to be an expensive proposition as compared to raising a boy child. Favouring a male child seems to have become a natural preference (for many) and is considered safe where the social, financial and all other conditions sum up to arrive at an answer to the question of existence.
However,a girl child is one of the most beautiful miracles in life, one of the greatest joys we can ever know and one of the reasons why there is extra sunshine, laughter and happiness in our world today. She is the hand that rocks the cradle, she is the mother of tomorrow and she is emblematic of our civilization.
Beholding an undying desire to reach out with the message to “save the girl child”, I welcome you to the world of the girl child.
Shot in a village in the state of jharkhand, this is the world of Munia.
hope you like it and coming soon is my calendar on the girl child.
