Photographer’s Note
India lives in its villages. some of them are so far away from the "civilized concrete jungles" and so near to nature that sometimes one has to travel the last mile in an aged mode of transport....the non-motorised,hand paddled village boat.
This pic, second in the series was captured on the outskirts of the city of jamshepur where river subarnarekha and kharkai meander to meet each other, with a village inhabitated by farmers in its hinterland. daily, these farmers and their families pedal back from the city and finally paddle to reach their homes, taking turns on the paddle.
This BOAT START is to get the desired initial momentum before the boat can be paddled onto the river
i have specifically used monotone to enhance the village/rural setting,to show the absence of the so called "city colours" in village life & get a nostalgic feel with the trees, hills and the river in the background. also cropped the sky as it was overexposed due to strong sunlight.
A composition as simple as the lives of these villagers, hope you all like it. critiques welcome!
