Photographer’s Note

The official Bard of Govt. of King Rama. This old gentleman can be seen sitting at the bridge, over a branch of river Betwa, connecting the town to the Fort and Palace. He plays his single string instrument and sings religious songs. The script on his instrument states 'Shri Ram Raja Sarkar' meaning 'The Government of Shri Ram Raja'.

A beautiful shot of this bridge to the palace and the fort was earlier posted by Angshu.

Orchha is a small town in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh state, India. Orchha lies on the Betwa River, in the Bundelkhand region of northern Madhya Pradesh about 17km from Jhansi.

I've seen this bard & so I'm sure every one who's gone to Orchha. I had noticed the writing on his instrument & your note throws light on that. A nice portrait shot. Did you pay him for this picture?
