Stray dogs in India lead a very dramatic life. From the instant they are born to the moment a freak accident puts an end to it, stray dogs are in a perennial struggle for food, shelter, against diseases and protection from a few who do not take so kindly to stray dogs.
This was shot in the Eastern Jain temples of Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh , India .
I found an interesting contrast in the expensive cameras clicking away a malnourished bitch feeding a liter of six. Chances are half of these puppies won’t survive.
Nevertheless, our mother here, was extremely camera friendly and blissfully oblivious to the shutters and was thoroughly enjoying this ‘5 minute’s fame’ before she again leaves in her pursuit for food so that she has enough milk for her babies.
Good luck to her!

Interesting shot & note, Durba. You're right about the contrast between the tourists and this emaciated bitch dutifully trying to feed her pups. One has to feel for her...great daily life photo. Regards,

This may not earn you much points but in my book, this is one of the best from the Indian gallery in recent days. The beauty about this site is, you get a chance to tell the story behind the shot and you do it here with fair aplomb. Well Done!

You hit the jugular with your note..well written. I agree with Sabyasachi that this may not attract enough points, but this is definitely one of the best I've seen from the Indian Gallery. Well seen for this great capture

Hello Durba. A very much impressing picture. The people are shaken by the emergency of the thin dog. It becomes conscious that there are two sides of this world. Well taken and worth seeing photo. Best regards, Wolfgang.

The dogs in india have a very dramatic life, but I liked the form as you counted it.
I liked the POV and the colors, but i think that contrast is very strong.

You have written the story of "Contrast in the same theme and the drama of life".
A litter of six suckling the milk and a flock of shooters shooting the frame.
Good brain work.
