Photographer’s Note
Chitrakot, the gorgeous waterfall is on the river Indravati, situated at a distance of 38 Km. in the west of Jagdalpur. Height of this waterfall is approximately 100ft.The Chitrakot waterfalls can be called as the smaller form of the world famous Nayagra waterfalls(only in monsoons though). The rainbow colors of the falls attracts the tourists at the first sight itself. These waterfalls are in a horse-shoe shape.
The whole width of the rock is flows with water during monsoon. We went thr in peak summer and hence only two streams of water. Although we would've missed the lovely blue-green of the waterpool below in monsoon. The very serene falls turn pretty wild and muddy during monsoon and it is not possible to access this area then.

Hello Neelima,
These truly unique waterfalls, normally we see them falling from a mountain between trees and these seem to arise from the rocks in a valley.
Excellent details and good light.
Best regards,
Charo
