Continuing with the Bastar Dusshera, here is another pic from the same festival but of a different ceremony though. What you are seeing here is the giant "Rath" or Chariot. The interesting part is that the entire chariot is built of wood and that too by a particular tribal community of the region. Similarly, a particular community has the responsibility to pull the chariot and believe me its a scene to watch when hundreds of people pull this huge chariot through roads of the Jagdalpur City. In earlier times the Kind of Bastar used to ride the chariot but these days only the canopy of the Goddess Danteshwari is placed on the Chariot.
It is the most interesting of all the festivities of the Bastar Dusshera when this chariot is pulled by the tribes.
