| Alaverdi is a Georgian Orthodox monastery, located in Alazani valley, in 20 km from Telavi. It was founded by the monk Joseph Alaverdeli in 6th century. The existing cathedral was built in 11th century; cupola was destroyed and restored in 16th century. |

Some old places can be very depressing, but this one because of the blue sky gives me a feeling of happiness, thank you
George,
Great architecture here! Your composition is great with a nice POV. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

what a pretty and interesting old monastery! :-)
great composition and pov with the grey stones of the building between the green grass and the clear blue sky -
are those snow-covered mountains in the back? well seen & captured, thor.
Gamardzioba George,
Alaverdi monastyr presents itself perfectly at the background of blue sky. I remember attending a service there two years ago, also talks with old women standing at the entrance gate and selling the thin yellow candless, still I have some of them at home and I remember donkeys - a very small one and its mother. The small donkey was hiding behind its parent. Nice memories. For sure I'll come back to Georgia maybe next year (last year I was only for 3 days being in transit, going from Azerbajain to Armenia).
Great composition and colours.
best regards
emilia
