[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This one's for Becky, who's very fond of Georgian pigs... hope she finds it!

There's quite a lot of processing here. I split the image into several sections - foreground, mid-ground, trees, hill, sky, putting them in different layers. I contrast adjusted each, then merged them back together, usually softening the edges with the eraser. The sky came from the blue channel, which is why it's more grainy - I didn't add any grain in this case. The frame is a scanned paper with a hole torn in it.

I am fond of your pig too! Nice postprocessing and background.

nice landscape with Black and White.

Great contrast of the shining castle on the hill to the mundane world (I suppose) of the pigs below. There's something allegorical here. It's certainly a great photo as pure art, too, Greg. The grain works well.

again , very good post processing, i like the frame too :)

Hello Greg!
Nice composition and B&W picture. Did you perform any post processing to the picture (like adding grain etc?)
Chen

Well Greg, there is plenty to like about this photo, well composed, with pigs, path, hill and the castle, it all works together very well and I don't find any parts of the image that are weak, all well balanced. Beautifully processed with very strong grain, nice bw.
Now for the nit picks, wish you could have avoided the shrubs in the foreground, especially the once obstructing the piglet.
Freame, no problem here but because it takes so much real estate the image itself is very small, would prefer it bigger, bet this wouldn't be a problem if printed on larger paper. Also along the frame we can see some brighter spots, I assume this is part of the frame and they are there to mimic old paper or something like that? I personally am not a big fan of it here and it's especially bothersome at the top right corner.

Apart from the small nit picks this is a superb image.

One little piggy went to the market...one little piggy went...or something like that, anyway! Everything from the image to your presentation of the shot works wonderfully well, Greg. This is such an unusual scene that I would actually call it a bit surreal...it has that magical storybook quality to it not found in many other shots here on TE. Excellent work.

Hi Greg, i would not venture to pronounce this location's name! haha!

i quite like the result of the post treatment, although a bit grainy to my taste... interesting and simple view!
Eric

PS: was the trip to georgia worthwhile in your opinion? something you would recommend?

great mood, I love it
Nice to have someone posting pictures from Georgia - this country is fascinating for me (as well as Armenia) - but remains completely unknown

I like the treatment here, the grains, the levels of contrast. It's working pretty well, at least to my tastes. Very nice and it brings something different to the TE table, I think (and I don't mean pork).

Hi Greg! How could I not find the pig, when I visit the Georgia page so often? In fact, it was the first thing I noticed when I opened the Georgia page today. Absolutely a great shot - thanks for posting it!

very nice image, extremely grainy again, good composition, great light. if the small big wasn't 'crossed' by those thin long branches or bushes it would be even better. nice work

Great photo! When we walk and drive around Mtskheta we saw Jvari Monastery at the mountain from everywhere -- it is really a symbol of this places.
And the pigs in the foreground are very cool -- your are lacky your can "catch" them!
