On the Georgian Military Road, a photo from Mtskheta-Mtianeti, East

Photographer's Note

This picture was taken in the Stepantsminda’s region at the beginning of the Vardisubani Village, where the Georgian Military Road went down giving me a breathing-space before the very steep uprise to the Krestoviy (Cross) Saddle (2379 m above sea level). At the top-left corner of the picture you can see the watch-tower of the Sioni Monastery.

Very beautiful green mountain scenery with some spectacular sharp peaks that remind me of pictures of the Dolomites.
It's a great setting for a monastery.
From on top of that watchtower probably the whole surrounding area can be overlooked easily.
