Do you know the legend about how Georgia came to be? Supposedly, at the beginning of times, when God was in the process of creating the world, other nations were quarreling and fighting over the best places to live in. In the meantime the Georgians, bored with waiting, sat down to have a party. In the evening, when God saw them drinking wine and singing songs he said: "I've already given away almost all land, I wanted to leave the most beautiful piece for myself- but I liked what you did while others where fighting so I'm going to give it to you"

Go to Georgia and judge for yourself if the legend has any truth in it. But if you ask me- the landscapes of the High Caucasus certainly fit into the story. Both for the beauty of the land, and the inhabitants' likeness for wine-drinking :-)

As many of you probably recognize- the building in the photo is the landmark of Kazbegi- the small church of Tsminda Sameba, which you can reach from the village in less than 40 minutes (if you take the steep route, or the easier and longer route but take a few steep shortcuts on the way:-))

Hello Aleksandra, this is very nice photo. Nice and vibrant colors, well compososed. The road take your eyes and guides you to the mountains and the building.
Great job.

Daniel

Delikatne...
Okrutnie starbugowskie...

Pokaz nam to, prosze...
Pozdrowien moc, Hania

Piękny Olu jest ten krajobraz. Surowy, ale i romantyczny zarazem.
Pozdrawiam!

moje marzenie, ta gruzja (i armenia, by the way)...
pozdr. j.

Aleksandra,
This is a very nice photo. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail. Your composition is great using the road to lead the eye through the photo.

Aleksandra,
Nice, curvy landscape - well composed, to give us a good feel of the environment. Manages to be both naturalistic and composed. Nice.

Colin
