[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Less than 70km from Tbilisi and located on Aragvi River, Ananuri is a Georgian fortress and church. Set on the top of a hill it offers amazing views of the surrounding area.

Unfortuantely we didn't have much time so we weren't able to visit the inside which is meant to be beautiful. But we did get a glimpse of some of the locals sitting just beside it selling some beautiful Georgian handmade items such as these papakhi hats

Hi Cora,

What a tremendous setting .. great point of view that amplifies the depth .. I love how the leafless trees and the dark earth tones play into the mood of the fortress .. very wonderful moody feeling image .. Does the top of that near tower really have that bit of tilt at the top? I bet it does looking at the lines of the rest of this place. Tremendous.

Great composition, great colours, excellent shot.

I'm really drawn to the color tones and light in this photo. The earth tones are very true and rich and the blues say peace to me. The clouds have a nice wisp to them. The castle is a great piece of architecture and it composed nicely within the frame. Very well done.

wow! looks like a scene in lord of the ring movies, beautiful crop, and the sky, mountains and water are awesome! perfect photo!! good job!!

I lovely and mystical place that I have not been but you have made it enchanting enough to visit. This image leads us down the road, past the fortress and into the blue lake which balances with the sky. Absolutely wonderful.
