‘Tbilisi - Georgian balconies’
Like all big cities also Tbilisi has some rather small streets in its center that are full of restaurants, bars, and clubs.
Shardeni Street is the most known. The street you see here is another one, close to Shardeni Str. but I forgot its name.
While the terraces are mainly empty during the day, they fill up quickly in the evening and they're frequented by locals and visitors.
I took this photo because I like the wooden balconies on the first floor. In the old town of Tbilisi so many houses have beautiful balconies. In the workshop you find another picture of a different but also typical wooden balcony (in another street).

Bonjour Paul ,

It is a nice oblique line with this terrace, red awning and balconies. Excellent light and sharpness. I too like those balconies and the texture of their old wood with a mix of pale green and grey.

Goed foto werk Paul. Bedankt.

Ciao e buona giornata

You've captured the street and vibrancy of this sight wonderfully well, I like how the clarity of the image has withstood the composition depicting a nice slice of life. A very colourful, full of charm with the old building finishes off so nicely. Mr congrats, TFS

very nice the view as the presentation of the Georgian balconies with the red chairs and tables to create a perfect contrast in the image.I like the creative perspective as the clarity and the beauty of the scene.

excactly, very similar to these I´ve seen on Malta.Georgia seems to be still undiscovered beauty on the Europe tourist map.
Nice composition showing beauty of Tbilisi.
I like here this long perspective and so eye-catching vivid colors, that enliven the whole scene.
Have a nice day

Beautiful street and great POV with this nice diagonal, which offers all the beauty of the facades and balconies, plus the charm of the terraces.
Very nice range of colors which gives us this picture.
Magnificent both luminosity and sharpness.
Very well done.
I wish you a happy weekend.

Alfresco dining & ' as you say ' Georgian style balconies ' a mix of various styles here - strong colours & highlights - has almost a surreal feel to the image... well done & congratulations!!!
fabbs99 (11102) 2013-09-14 19:53
Very colorful facade of this lovely building. The balconies look great.Very well done.TFS.

Balconies, sunshades other elements of architecture, design and decoration make your picture being highly colorful and attractive. You was lucky with good weather. I was to Tbilisi two years ago and could taken only one picture because of lack of sunlight. In your shot there are bright sunlight, vivid colors, a lot of interesting details and very high photographic qualities. Excellent job!
ChrisJ (91276) 2013-09-15 15:18
Nice repetition of the red chairs in the fg with a superb warm cold color contrast against the blue sky and shadows, with the red awning amplifying the effect. The diagonal adds good dynamism. Tfs!
mkamionka (27069) 2013-09-18 8:59
lovely balconies indeed. They remind me similar ones which I have recently seen in Malta, I don't have any good photo of them though.
I like how bright and full of sun and color is this street. The restaurant in the foreground is welcoming. Nice sky too. Very good processing to make the picture even more eye catching.
SWEETFREEDOM (19926) 2013-09-20 4:19
very characteristic these wooden balconies. lovely colors and light too.
boa (4605) 2013-09-20 13:08
yes, these balconies really have something extra. Interesting details built by skillful craftsmen but a little bit odd to use wooden balconies to houses with stone facades. Iron is more common as far as i know. Good colors and perspective, Tfs!
Have a nice weekend.
claudeD (26946) 2013-09-21 2:50
Very interesting picture from Georgia showing this very interesting architecture. very good sharpness and clarity of the shot. This restaurant is inviting everyone to take a seat and to have a fone meal. Very well done. TFS.
With regards from Luxembourg
ikeharel (43975) 2013-09-27 2:03
Red chairs fit well with the street scene, contrast with green and grey, under those unique balconies along.
Diagonal angel added good depth, and light was in favor.
Lovely location, well collected.
kato (9522) 2013-09-28 6:08
You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent yone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see Georgian balconies with tasteful design/shape on the first floor and restaurant's terrace with colorful chairs/roof. The whole is harmonized well by a good arrangement and beautiful color combination. And, the shadow projected to the street draws out a good effect.
mcmtanyel (5219) 2013-09-29 14:30
I love the perspective provided by the bands of colors in this photo. Now, is it smoke or mist that is around the closest air conditioning unit and the edge of the red awning?
PS. To answer your question, it may have been possible to hang over the railing, but I was a newlywed at the time, and my focus was not on the scenery so much... Now that I decided to make the photo about the church, I did not have the heart to cut part of it out.
shevchenko (18725) 2013-10-03 2:28
Good pov and good frame to show a row of old shoplots, attractive colourful view in a sunny day, nice reddish chairs and green potted plants, good WS photo to show the wooden balcony, distinct photos, good shoot.
Oceania (3231) 2013-10-03 6:40
Yes, these wooden balconies are distinctive and beautiful. It's such a sunny and pleasant summer day. I really like the composition of this picture.
jcpix (6536) 2013-10-05 16:57
A different sort of balcony than we're accustomed to seeing, and I like what it's done for the visual impact. Recently there have been some postings from Malta that show a similar style, and because of the alternate design from a traditional balcony, these have really caught my attention.
A bright and colorful street, the red chairs make their presence known here, as they too stand out from the crowd with flare. A bright, sunny day and vivid colors have made for a very pleasing image...and your composition lends itself very well to the stretched perspective. More intrigue and learning from this location. Thanks for sharing the experience. Enjoy the day ahead.
bbarna (466) 2013-10-07 8:36
Very interesting colorful street scene, all those empty chairs are inviting. I will put Tbilisi on my wish list of places to visit.
Kamilutka (3738) 2013-11-05 2:44
I have been browsing in you Georgian gallery and among all these great photos this one particularly drew my attention. Very successful composition with perfect proportions and well chosen POV. The reddish marquee splits the photo into two parts at exactly right angle. LOvely colors and light.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Paul !!!
the countries on this region of the world are all a mystery to me... so I enjoy looking at your photos and learning...... I think that I would have taken this photo as well as I incorporated restaurants as one of my favourite themes.
I can see nice colonial buildings, a good sky and yummy food been prepared in the kitchen !!!
Greetings from Australia.
