Sagamo Lake under the Georgian Flag, a photo from Samtskhe-Javakheti, East

Photographer's Note

This is a typical view of the Ninotsminda District of Samtskhe-Javakheti, a Georgian region populated mostly by the Armenians (95.8 % in the district and 54.6 % in the region). In the background you see the Sagamo Lake, the Javakheti Range and Armenian Sagamo Village at its foot. The average altitude of the village is 1986 m (6515 ft) above sea level. Through the lake the Paravani River flows. Initially it flows out of the Georgia’s largest lake Paravani.

The Georgian Flag in the variant that you see in the picture was adopted by the Georgian parliament on January 14, 2004.

Hi Sergiy,

beautiful landscape in Giorgio, not musch visited place in TE, so interesting to see. Looks similar like in Scotland, green nountains with no forests, the white dots could be sheep.

beautiful the softess of this peacefull landscape. interesting how this region and other of the former sovietic union are a mix of different ethnic groups.
